Introduction to Leiyin Temple:
Located 4 kilometers south of Dunhuang City, it belongs to Yangjiaqiao Township, on the left side of the road from Dunhuang City to Mingsha Mountain. Legend has it that there was a Leiyin Temple near Crescent Lake in ancient times, but later a sandstorm hit and the temple was buried by Mingsha Mountain. In 1989, with donations from Buddhist groups at home and abroad and Buddhists in Dunhuang City, the Leiyin Temple was rebuilt at its current location. It was completed and opened to tourists in June 1991.

Leiyin Temple covers an area of ​​43 mu, with a construction area of ​​more than 3,000 square meters. The three characters "Leiyin Temple" on the temple gate were written by Zhao Puchu, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and President of the Chinese Buddhist Association. The temple gate opens to the west. The whole temple consists of 1 main hall, 2 auxiliary halls, monks' quarters, and guest rooms for donors, with a total of more than 100 halls and pavilions. There are 37 statues of Buddha, Bodhisattva, Arhat, and disciples. Among them, the main hall is the Great Hall, and in the center of the hall is a white marble Buddha statue, about 1 meter high, donated by overseas Chinese in Myanmar; on both sides of the Buddha statue are a Bodhisattva, and there are 18 Arhats, with lifelike images.
