【Hunxie King】 A Xiongnu, his birth and death years are unknown. He and Xiutu King jointly ruled the right part of the Xiongnu (now the Hexi Corridor in Gansu). It was once one of the important obstacles to opening up the Silk Road. In the third year of Yuanshou (120 BC) of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, the Han envoy General Huo Qubing led an army of more than 10,000 cavalrymen from Longxi to attack, and the front of the army went straight to Yanzhi Mountain (now Shandan in Gansu), where they fought a decisive battle and won a great victory, and obtained the "Golden Man for Offering to Heaven" of Xiutu King. In the summer of the same year, Huo Qubing and the Heqi Hou Ma Tong led troops again, passed through Juyan (now Ejin Banner in Inner Mongolia), and reached the foothills of Qilian Mountain. Hunye King and Xiutu King were defeated again and suffered heavy losses. The Xiongnu Chanyu Yizhixie saw that he and Xiutu King were defeated twice and wanted to kill them. Therefore, Hunye King and Xiutu King led more than 40,000 subordinates, claiming to be 100,000, to surrender to the Western Han Dynasty. On the way, Xiutu King regretted it, and Hunye King killed him. After the battle, the Western Han Dynasty built Lingju City near Lanzhou and established Jiuquan County in Jiuquan. Later, Wuwei, Zhangye and Dunhuang counties were established, forming a situation of "four counties and two passes", opening up the road to the Western Regions.
